The staff at reception and the porters were exceptionally nice and helpful.
Excellent value- we got a special deal for 26euro for 2 people including breakfast! A hostel would have been more expensive. We are still wondering if it was a mistake!
The decor is looking a little tired for a 4 star.
Dinner in the restaurant on the Saturday evening was gorgeous. Waiter was very efficient and advised well on wine choice.
When we arrived, the receptionist did not have our booking under my name - it was under a different name which was bizaare and alarming. We thought a bottle of wine/drink in the bar would have been a nice touch considering it was our wedding anniversary. Also we found it difficult to sleep as there was a lot of noise coming from a nearby bar.
The Hotel Meyrick is in a great location, very comfortable and welcoming with the open fire and plenty lounge seating, it has nice helpfull and friendly staff, and car parking available, for Breakfast there was a great variety it was hot and plentyfull and available up till the stated time. the out door Canadian style hot tub on the 5th floor over looking the city and Galway Bay was very relaxing after a wonderfull day exploring the city shops and the walk to nearby Salthill. night life was entertaining with live music in the local pubs and the Courmet Restaurant's had plenty of choice. there was also a nice city walk along the corrib near to the Hotel. the lift was always available. The room had every thing from Hairdryer to kettle to ironing press, fridge and TV. clean crisp linnen, and fresh towels changed the following morning. The Hotel was very easy to find on entering the City, well sign posted and ajacent to Bus and Train station. The spa is also worth a visit. I would highly recomend this Hotel and I am looking forward to returning again in the not too distant future.
The room was far too small considering the price of it. The staff could be more friendly. A whole round unenjoyable, cold experience.
1 The staff. 2 The foyer area. The location.
1 Our bedroom was small and probably needs an upgrade. We complained about our room and were offered an upgrade which was slightly better. We declined as we were only staying for one night. However we were of the impression that our complaint was taken very seriously which was gratifying.
location. room style, efficient service
poor hairdryer, room too warm
friendly, very helpful staff - with one exception. convenient location.
hotels, in my experience, supply bottled water in rooms. It was very disappointing to discover this lack late on the night of our stay. When I went down to the bar seeking water and was charged an exorbitant amount for four small bottles I believe the bar lady was less than helpful. As a result my sister and I resolved not to stay with you again.
it was a great place to stay, breakfast was good, room was comfortable, staff very helpfull.
Really and sincerely everything
Our room was very spacious with very high ceilings.
Our room was on the second floor, so it was close to the street. The street noise was very evident and kept us awake throughout the night.
The old world charm, with possibly the best location in Galway, also the staff were second to none, they were able to help us with whatever we needed.
We got a beautiful room and very friendly, helpfull receptionist Orla.
Location, friendly staff, great breakfast and good spa facilities
Was at a wedding and your staff never let the wine glass go below half way I like that a lot :-)
Standard double room bit small for price but il just book luxury room next time and pay a little extra :-)
